IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2019

August 2019

Dear Stafford Parents and Guardians,

Welcome, or “Welcome Back” to Stafford School!  I hope you all had a fun summer and are ready for a fantastic school year!  Our dedicated staff has planned a very exciting year for you and your child.   OUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2019, which is AFTER Labor Day this year.

For the first two days of school, students will line up outside of their classrooms doors so teachers can meet and greet students and families. All exterior doors are clearly marked with the room number. For those classrooms without an exterior door (Mr. O’Rourke, Mrs. Kulesa, Mrs. Marcotte, Mr. Ruel, Ms. Rice, and Mrs. Gendreau), classes will meet BELOW their rooms on the blacktop. Beginning Thursday, September 5th, students will enter the building directly through the front doors and will meet inside daily.

We are looking forward to a great school year with some exciting new changes!  We have a new vision and mission statement which we will all learn and follow together.  We have an addition to our SOAR motto which includes the trait of optimism!  All staff and students will be participating in daily morning CREW meetings where we will jump on our “mission” to collaboratively foster perseverance, communication, problem-solving, and achievement of common goals to support our students as responsible members of our communities.

At Stafford School, we will continue to communicate regularly through Class Dojo, which can be accessed through www.classdojo.com and downloaded on your phone with the Class Dojo app.  Your child’s teacher can communicate to the whole classroom with classroom stories and photos, and teachers and parents can communicate privately through Dojo as well.  As principal, I will be posting regular schoolwide updates on Dojo, so get connected and stay tuned!

REMINDER OF DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR PICK UPSStudents in grades K, 1, and 2 who are picked up by an authorized adult must be signed out by the adult daily at the designated pick up locations.  Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be signed out by the teacher and will be matched directly with their authorized pick up persons.  No students will be allowed to leave the building without an adult present.  All adults must have a photo ID with them.

If you have any further questions, concerns, or ideas please feel free to contact any staff member or me.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and we’ll see you Tuesday, September 3rd!

Sincerely,

Kristin Irvine
